Here is the link to the province of British Columbia's Climate Adaptation Strategy.

The public has until August 12 to comment.
It's a 50 page document.

I have read it carefully and i have made comments in PDF's below to make it easier to understand. I've only highlighted what i see as critically important points in the document.
It was incredibly
repetitive and confusing to follow but that might be just me. :)

This is not part of the BC Climate Adaptation Strategy but is a good primer on what is critical to understand if we are to adapt to a hotter and dryer planet. It also further explains the concept of Slash Swales On Contour (SSOC's)

I have separated key topics in the
BC Climate Adaptation Strategy into separate PDF's.

This is not part of the BC Climate Adaptation Strategy but was a presentation i did for our community when the government came through to do a public consultation on the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) in 2018. It was commended by the fire chief as one of the first solutions proposed from the public side of the fence (the CWPP is what the government will do on the public side of the fence).

The concept of Fire Protection Buffer Zones has evolved somewhat since we've been installing them but there is some good basic information in this presentation on how we can increase the humidity bubble in the landscape, the water lense in the soil horizon and food security in the community all with passive nature-based solutions.
