Secure Food Systems

My name is Michael Hollihn.
I am a shareholder and member of Blue Earth Forest-Farm.
I studied food security and top-soil erosion at the University of Victoria.

I then studied sustainable forestry practice at the Eco-Forestry Institute.

Which led me get a diploma in timber frame production at the College of the Rockies.

All of my work continues to focus on what i refer to as food and shelter security.

Please email me at my name, one word, at gmail dot com for more information.

Please visit my timber frame website at pranatimberframes dot com.

Please look at some of my work below.

Welcome!

I help families, farms and communities design and build resilience into their landscapes.

I do this using a diversity of plants and plant guilds to create food-forest polycultures.

I focus on the soil and maximize its ability to store carbon, fungi and water.

This creates a passive system that self-irrigates and provides an abundance of nutrient dense foods.
What better way to punctuate this system than with a wood-fired clay bread oven!

Check out our upcoming workshop this year to learn how to make your own.
